Shion no Ō is a Japanese mystery manga written by Masaru Katori and illustrated by Jiro Ando. It centers around a young girl named Shion Yasuoka who witnesses the murder of her parents and takes up shogi to possibly learn who killed them. The manga has been adapted into a 22-episode anime series. The story also features Makoto Hani, a professional shogi player whose name coincides with that of a real-life Meijin, causing controversy in the shogi world.
